Mary-Kate Olsen is an American actress and fashion designer. She also writes, produces, and runs a business. She was the co-founder of luxury clothing brands The Row, Elizabeth and James as well as smaller lines like Olsenboye and StyleMint alongside her fraternal twin sister Ashley Olsen. Olsen started acting by herself when she was a teenager and continued until 2012. Olsen is the elder sibling of actor Elizabeth Olsen.
